Defamation: Noun: A false accusation of an offense or a malicious misrepresentation of someones words or actions. It's important that, when using legal words and/or terms, one should be well versed in their definitions and meanings......so naturally, Bryan "Lyin' Fissure" Fischer, gets it wrong. In the following tweet, Fischer bemoans a report, by Fox News no less, that the U.S. military considers the AFA, to which Fischer is head, a hate group. Shocking!!! How could the U.S. military possibly consider the AFA a hate group. Sure, they sponsor hate rallies, protest gay rights, accuse gays of pedophilia, rape and incest but they're not hateful. (obligatory eye roll) Seriously though, the AFA is considered a hate group and is certified so by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) ;which, for several decades, has been the foremost authority on such groups. From the KKK to the Aryan Nation, the SPCL has monitored, cataloged and kept information on all such groups to maintain an accurate record of their activities. The SPCL does not certify a group as a hate group on a whim, nor does it do so for political or religious reasons. The fact is, to be considered for such a rarefied certificate, the organization must display malicious lying about identifiable groups/minorities and further, through those lies, engage, or cause to be engaged, acts of violence and/or discrimination. For all it's huffing and puffing, the reality is that the AFA is indeed a hate group. That Fischer would accuse others of defaming him is beyond the pale. Such self-serving hubris is pathetic. Sadly, it appears that the military will be lifting the designation as it stands in their manual so Fischer, for now, can breath easy......for now.
