Brown, President of the National Organization for Marriage (NOM) has, many times in the past, urged county clerks to disobey any lawful order or licencing if it "went against their sincerely held beliefs". Really, he's said that many times. Brown believes that, if you have a sincerely held belief that something is wrong, you should disobey it. I say fine by me, except he really doesn't believe that. Take a look at the tweet below. Here we see Brown lamenting the fact that a county clerk is issuing same-sex marriage licenses and insinuating that, somehow, the clerk is violating his duty to the law.......problem for Brown is twofold here: 1.There is no law against same-sex marriage in New Mexico and 2. he is contradicting his own stance on county clerks being allowed to ignore the law....even though, in this case, that's not even happening. Talk about a prime example of hypocritus cognitivus dissonancus (again, having some fun with license.)
Enjoy......
